Balltec designs, manufactures and tests high integrity mechanical connectors for critical applications in the global renewable energy and oil and gas sectors. The engineering team creates technical solutions for the transfer of load in moorings, lifting components and subsea cable connections.

The Workshop Offshore Technician will work alongside other technicians, and internal company personnel to successfully complete the assembly and testing of new products, inspection and refurbishment of existing products and maintenance of company equipment.
Operating power and hand tools (grinders, drills, belt sanders, etc.)
Assembly of a range of mechanical connectors and lifting tools
Operating HPUs including stripping down and reassembling hydraulic cylinders
Maintenance of workshop equipment
Cleaning and maintenance of work areas
Uphold the Balltec HSSEQ Procedures
Once training has been completed to a satisfactory standard, there may be opportunities to go offshore.
Right to work in the UK.
Previous experience of working in an industrial environment (preferred).
Previous experience of working with hand and power tools (preferred).
Forklift and gantry crane certificates (preferred).
Full UK driving license (preferred)
Ability to work well both individually and as part of a team
Good communications skills – must interface with other technicians, engineers and management on a regular basis
Good punctuality and personal time management
Ability to be flexible with working hours when required (overtime on evenings and weekends may be occasionally required)
Demonstrated initiative in solving challenging problems
Ability to rapidly learn new concepts with little to no supervision
Understanding and operating hydraulic equipment.
Willingness to travel off site, to client sites and potentially worldwide.
Reading and understanding engineering drawings.
DBS checks will be carried out prior to commencing employment due to visa requirements
Basic pay up to £30,800 + Overtime
Additional offshore pay
38 hour working week (Mon. thru Thur. 0800 to 1700, Fri. 0800 to 1200).
