As a founder member of Balltec in 2004, Russell’s expertise and knowledge is extensive.
Previously the Projects Director, Russell has led the Balltec team as Managing Director since 2011 and has been the driving force behind our expansion into the offshore wind sector.
Jackie is a qualified accountant with over 30 years’ experience in manufacturing companies.
In her youth, Jackie competed for Great Britain in athletics and now employs her competitive spirit and drive to succeed to improve our systems and push for continuous growth.
Duncan has been an integral part of Balltec since its foundation in 2004.
With a background as a machinist and having worked within our Engineering department before heading up the Procurement and Workshop departments, his sound understanding of the manufacturing, assembly and testing processes ensures that our production runs smoothly and efficiently.
Rob has been the Sales Manager at Balltec since 2015, having previously worked for Trelleborg Offshore and Balmoral Offshore Engineering.
As a qualified Mechanical Engineer and with over 20 years’ experience in the offshore energy market, his knowledge and experience of the offshore market is invaluable to our continued growth.
Established in 2004 as a vehicle for further development of technology for use in heavy lifting, subsea connections, and pipeline recovery, we have provided some of the world’s most prestigious and technically challenging projects with systems, equipment and services.
It was in 1983 that our founder manufactured and patented the world’s first ball and taper device for oil and gas applications, followed shortly after, by a revolutionary weld-less mechanical pipe connector that later became the Morgrip, still in use today.
Balltec was established in 2004 as a vehicle for further development of ball and taper technology for use in mooring connections, pipeline recovery systems and heavy lifting applications, primarily in offshore environments.
Using our success and expanding knowledge of the offshore industry, we developed a range of other connectors and handling equipment, including our patented LiftLOK lifting and handling system, to expand operations and establish a fleet of products around the world.
Our high-quality, reliable lifting and handling products mean our clients can rely on storing our equipment in key locations in the event they are suddenly required.
Our reputation for innovation and the ability to deliver complex projects on time saw the award of the FPSO mooring connectors on the largest oil and gas development in Brazil’s offshore pre-salt region: the Guará-Lula project.
The project was a significant undertaking for Balltec, and the giant MoorLOK connectors designed, manufactured and delivered highlighted Balltec’s expertise in the subsea mooring connector market and its ability to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
One of our key strengths is the ability to work closely with clients to develop customized solutions to meet their specific needs.
As this service grew, Balltec evolved into Balltec Engineered Solutions reflecting the high demand for bespoke handling solutions to complement the existing off-the-shelf lifting, handling and mooring products.
Our expertise in subsea mooring connectors and handling equipment has led us naturally into the offshore wind industry, where the challenging marine environment presents unique engineering challenges.
We have already been involved in the world’s largest and most prestigious offshore wind farm developments supplying tools for cable end terminations, cable connectors, and heavy lifting equipment.
Our commitment to the offshore wind sector led to our acquisition by The Venterra Group.
The acquisition has enabled us to benefit from the expertise and resources of a leading energy investment firm allowing us to expand operations, invest in research into new products and technologies, and help keep us at the forefront of the offshore engineering industry.
