Quality Assurance
Balltec operates a Quality Management System in accordance with BS EN ISO 9001 certified by TUV for the “Design, assembly, testing, deployment and installation or recovery of mooring and connecting equipment for use primarily in the offshore oil and gas industries and the sub-contract break and proof load testing of customers accessories and chains.”
The principles of achieving customer satisfaction and compliance with customer and regulatory requirements is core to Balltec’s quality strategy. The integrity of Balltec’s products are paramount and full manufacturing operations have been scrutinised by the class societies leading to succesful maunfacturers approval by ABS, DNV and BV.
Balltec uses only European sourced materials from class approved mills. Balltec’s key suppliers are also ISO 9001 approved, ensuring continuing quality throughout the full process of project execution.
All Balltec tools are designed, manufactured and tested to meet the legislation requirements of the applicable class societies, including ABS, DNV and Bureau Veritas. In order to meet the class requirements, Balltec designs are independently verified, as are key stages of product manufacture, including;
Review and stamping of raw material Cutting of test specimens Mechanical test of raw material Proof load and MBL test
Contractor and company inspectors have full access throughout all stages of production, both at Balltec and within our supply base, and are welcome to verify key stages of manufacture.
In addition to internal QMS documentation, Balltec develops project specific documents based upon customer requirements including forging procedures, heat treatment procedures, inspection and test plans, NDT procedures and installation procedures. These project specific documents are reviewed and commented on by the class society and customer and form part of the agreed contractual requirements.
